In detail

For the Alghero-Rome Fiumicino route (base bid fixed at 5,236,440.33 euros net, 5,760,084.36 euros gross), Aeroitalia offered 4,974,618.31 euros net, Ita 5,095,056.44 euros net. Until September 27, the possibility remains that a Community carrier agrees to operate the routes without exclusivity or compensation.

Today's award, comments the regional councilor for Transport Antonio Moro, "is an important signal for the entire Sardinian air system and concludes the tenders for territorial continuity by aligning the three Sardinian airports with the deadline of 26 October 2024. Aeroitalia confirms its the reference company of the airports of Northern Sardinia and thus lays the foundations for an increasingly important roots in Alghero and Olbia».

The new continuity

«Tomorrow in Rome - Moro also anticipates - a meeting will be held at the Ministry of Transport to plan the future of the territorial continuity of the island. The Region of Sardinia will bring data demonstrating the critical issues repeatedly denounced, starting with an insufficient number of flights to satisfy the traffic of residents in Sardinia and above all the need to cap the non-resident fare. These are the critical issues that we have repeatedly highlighted and that we will bring to the Ministry so that together with the government and ENAC we can reopen the confrontation with the European Commission to redefine the terms of the tenders for the assignment of routes in territorial continuity between Sardinia and the Continent".
