Arson attack last night in Codrongianos, in the Sassarese area, against the city councilor for the budget, Tore Pittui .

Shortly after 9.30pm, a man poured petrol into the assessor's car parked on the street in front of his house and set it on fire.

A witness heard an explosion and saw the bomber flee. He then raised the alarm by alerting the commissioner and the police.

Tore Pittui, who is a firefighter , put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before the arrival of a team of colleagues from Sassari . The attack damaged the car's windshield, hood and engine compartment.

The carabinieri of the Codrongianos station and of the Company of Sassari are investigating the fact and to try to trace the attacker they are viewing the images of the surveillance cameras supplied to the municipal administration and scattered around the town.
