"We are preparing for a big demonstration next week: once again we will block Sassari Olbia with tractors or slow down its traffic. In the absence of answers we have no alternatives. But this time we will be even more numerous". These are the words of Gianfrancesco Decandia, spokesman for the Ponte Diana committee, closed by Anas on 8 June last because it was deemed unsafe.

The bridge over Lake Coghinas, located in the municipality of Oschiri, is strategic: it connects the town with Tempio, but more precisely Gallura with Logudoro. Built in 1925, it has not undergone significant maintenance since then, which brought it to its current conditions. "Anas would like to start safety measures on the bridge as early as this month - continues Decandia - but apparently the regional Department of the Environment has asked for various constraints, so the works have not begun".

The inconveniences are innumerable and evident, especially for the different families who reside across the bridge. "We are practically segregated at home - Decandia specifies -. To reach Oschiri we are forced to take long laps in dangerous mule tracks". The Municipality of Oschiri tried to find an interim solution, trying to fix an old road. But the Forestry Corps has blocked the work, as some authorizations are missing. "In three months we have only witnessed rebounds of responsibility - concludes Decandia -. I hope, on behalf of all, that next week's event will help to stir something up. This situation has been going on for too long".
