"I got scared and shot." Emanuele Ragnedda killed Cinzia Pinna at the height of a bloody argument after a night of drinking and drugs.
This is the version given to investigators during questioning yesterday at the police station by the wine entrepreneur who confessed to the murder of the thirty-three-year-old woman from Castelsardo, who disappeared from Palau on September 11th and was found dead yesterday, September 24th, on the estate of Ragnedda's company.
According to his reconstruction, the man fired one or more gunshots at the young woman in self-defense: at the height of a violent argument, she approached him with an object in her hand, and he, out of fear – according to his statements – pulled the trigger.
Investigators, of course, are seeking every piece of evidence to reconstruct what happened in the house on the Ragnedda estate, between Arzachena and Palau. They're also trying to figure out how a gun came to be.
The confessed offender, before the investigators, admitted that he had used drugs and alcohol extensively that evening, as also confirmed by the inspection of the house by the Carabinieri of the RIS.
Further information on the circumstances and motive could emerge from the questioning of Ragnedda, who is being held in the Nuchis prison. Initially scheduled for tomorrow morning, it could be postponed until Saturday, when a detailed report will be available from the Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office, which is continuing its investigation.
Ragnedda spoke at length today with his lawyer, Luca Montella, who has decided not to comment at this time.
