A series of checks as part of a wide-ranging service were carried out yesterday by the Carabinieri of Carbonia, Narcao, Santadi, Sant'Antioco, with specialized personnel from the Nas and Nil of Cagliari.

The objective was not only the prevention and repression of crimes, but also the verification of compliance with the containment measures of the coronavirus pandemic.

A 19-year-old from Carbonia was reported after being found driving a Fiat Ducato without a license. He had never achieved it. A violation that had already been challenged last October. The vehicle was then seized for the purposes of confiscation.

A 46-year-old was instead reported for driving under the influence of alcohol after he had caused an accident in via Orione, without however involving other vehicles. Subjected to an ethilometric test, it was found to be positive with a rate higher than 1.50 grams per liter. The vehicle also did not have insurance coverage and the driving license was withdrawn.

Situation similar to San Giovanni Suergiu: a 38-year-old who, in via Roma, was at the wheel of a Citroen and proceeded with a wandering pace got into trouble. Stopped by the carabinieri, he refused the breath test. The car was not his property and was not placed under administrative detention, while the license was withdrawn.

Finally, during an inspection carried out by specialized personnel of the Nas and Nil (Labor Inspectorate Unit) of the Cagliari carabinieri, the employment of 2 illegal workers out of 5 total was ascertained in a bar, as well as to significant health and hygiene deficiencies. The activity was suspended and administrative penalties for a total of 10 thousand euros were challenged. During the entire service, 25 vehicles and 7 bars were checked.
