Potholes and other road hazards along the provincial roads leading from Castiadas to the sea. Potholes and deterioration have been repeatedly reported by residents and tourists, especially along provincial roads 18 and 19. The most affected sections are the one between the San Pietro intersection and the Maluccu junction for Costa Rei, and provincial road 19 between the San Pietro bridge and the town of Centrale.

For this reason, the mayor of Castiadas, Eugenio Murgioni, has written to the Metropolitan City of Cagliari, the body that manages the provincial roads. "I have submitted," the mayor clarified, "a formal request for urgent intervention to repair the road surface in the most damaged areas." Murgioni added that "the numerous potholes along the roadway pose a real danger to motorists, motorcyclists, and cyclists, especially in the evening and nighttime, when reduced visibility increases the risk of accidents. The safety of citizens and those who travel along these important arteries every day must be a top priority."

On the other hand, "it is gratifying," Murgioni added, "to note that, following requests, vegetation clearing along the SP19 has begun." The hope is that "starting next year, these interventions will be scheduled further in advance, so that they can be completed before the start of the tourist season."
