Tragedy was risked in the sea of Cala Pira, in Castiadas, where a girl who fell from a dinghy was injured in the leg by the propeller of the rented boat together with three friends.

The victim, a 19-year-old tourist from Lombardy, ended up in the water during an excursion: she was immediately rescued and accompanied to Brotzu by helicopter and operated on her injured leg. The prognosis is linked to ongoing investigations. Fortunately, the tourist is not in danger of life.

The Coast Guard of Cagliari and the detached section of Villasimius are investigating the matter. Tomorrow the investigations with the possible interrogation of the injured and of the other occupants of the dinghy. The investigations will be carried out for the detached headquarters of the Villasimius Coast Guard by the commander Massimiliano Camba.

The first part of the excursion took place in full regularity, with the boat reaching the sea of Cala Pira. The fall into the sea would have been sudden with the help immediately taken and provided by the other occupants of the boat.

The intervention of the Coast Guard and then of the ambulance was immediate, with the transfer of the wound to Brotzu where the lacerated leg was immediately operated on.

The carabinieri of the Compagnia di San Vito also worked on the spot and, coordinated by Major Massimo Meloni, worked to facilitate the safe landing and subsequent take-off of the Areus helicopter.
