More controls, control of the territory and security. In Carloforte, with the official inauguration of the XXI edition of Girotonno, the presence of the Carabinieri has been strengthened to guarantee the smooth running of the eagerly awaited event. The massive arrival of visitors, food enthusiasts, tourists and simply curious people is transforming the island of San Pietro into a lively international crossroads of flavors, culture and music.
Already on the opening day, a significant increase in entries to the island was recorded, a tangible sign of the success of the event. A presence so significant as to require extraordinary attention in terms of surveillance. The services arranged by the Provincial Command of Cagliari have continued incessantly in these hours, with a targeted strengthening of controls and a visible and reassuring presence of the Arma along roads, ports and areas of greater concentration.
During the official presentation of the event, on several occasions the organizers wanted to publicly thank the Carabinieri for the important contribution offered to the safety of the entire organizational machine. A special thanks to the Carabinieri Station of Carloforte, constantly engaged in foot patrols through the streets of the historic center, where the proximity to the citizens has made a greater perception of safety tangible, both by residents and visitors.
Also guarding the territory are the soldiers of the Nucleo Radiomobile, the specialized dog units, the motorcyclists from the Cagliari Command and the helicopter pilots of the Nucleo di Elmas, who from above guarantee a wide and timely surveillance. The synergy between the various branches of the Arma, from the territorial departments to the special ones, is ensuring an effective, discreet but constant presence, in support of an event that combines celebration and responsibility.
The Provincial Command confirms that the commitment of the Arma will continue for the entire duration of the Girotonno, in the wake of a daily and attentive presence, to ensure that the great event takes place in complete safety, without giving up the climate of welcome and participation that has always distinguished Carloforte.
Impressive effort also by the State Police, present with men and means to ensure the correct execution of all the initiatives and thus maintain a high perception of safety for the many people present. Also on site was the commissioner of Carbonia, in addition to specialized personnel from some departments. Plainclothes officers also in action.
