Once again the final stretch of via Lubiana in Carbonia was the scene of a road accident involving a car that was regularly parked next to the pavement in the designated spaces created by the Municipality.
A car, for reasons yet to be ascertained and which the local police are investigating, lost control last night and in the pile-up hit a car that was adjacent to the sidewalk. The damage was considerable.
Luckily, one person was injured and nothing to worry about. But the incident has rekindled protests from residents because in the space of a year, eight cars have been hit at that final point of Via Lubiana, a key artery of city traffic in the southern part of the city, where speed is often taken to excessive levels. And those who pay the price are the cars parked in designated spaces.
For some time now, residents have been asking the Municipality to install one or even two speed bumps.
