Searches for highly dangerous fugitives are among the ROS's prerogatives, so the activities delegated to search for Cubeddu, at the head of the Ministry of the Interior's Special Search Program, are being extended throughout Italy by the military of the Group. The searches, conducted primarily in Ogliastra, were necessary to find evidence essential to the fugitive's capture. In particular, family members and individuals with various ties to Cubeddu were targeted.
