The man has confessed to the murder of 48-year-old Slobodanka Metusev , which occurred at the end of a quarrel that broke out in the house where they lived in Capoterra on 6 November 2022. The Court presided over by Judge Giovanni Massidda recognized generic mitigating circumstances for the accused, thanks to defender Marco Lisu's choice to skip the hearing, allowing the public prosecution to deposit the entire evidentiary material collected in the investigations. A procedural strategy that saved the accused from the risk of a life sentence.

Precisely the hypothesis of the maximum sentence, foreseen for aggravated uxoricide, had prevented the accused from accessing the abbreviated procedure and the possibility of obtaining a discount of one third of the final sentence. The origin of the feminicide was apparently the couple's constant arguments : Sajn shared a room in the extraordinary reception home (Cas) for migrants with his wife, with whom he arrived in Capoterra in the summer of 2022.
