Cagliari, hit on viale Colombo while going to school: seventeen-year-old fights between life and death

Serious accident in Cagliari this morning shortly after 8: in Viale Colombo, at the pedestrian crossing in front of Piazza dei Centomila, a 17-year-old girl was hit while she was going to school at Liceo Alberti by a gray Fiat Panda driven by an eighty-two-year-old. The elderly man was apparently blinded by the low sun on the horizon and did not see the girl on the roadway.

The seventeen-year-old was hit very violently and remained on the ground, unconscious.

The 118 staff provided immediate assistance, transporting him to Brotzu with a red code assigned and transferring him to intensive care: the head injuries are very serious, the wound is fighting between life and death.

Local Police officers were on site to carry out investigations.

The road, in the direction of Sant'Elia, was closed to traffic during rescue operations and surveys.

The Brotzu health management has reported that the seventeen-year-old is in critical condition but is still alive.

The driver of the car stopped immediately to provide assistance: his license was immediately withdrawn and he will be reported to the Prosecutor's Office for the crime of road injuries.
