"Dirty grates and unbearable smell." And in the popular Tuvumannu district in Cagliari the hygienic-sanitary SOS is triggered.

The city councilor Marcello Polastri denounces it, who turned to the authorities with a complaint, as well as with a question to the mayor also signed by his colleague Loredana Lai: «The smell enters houses even from electrical sockets and is making life impossible for those who live in via Castelli».

According to the councillor, "there are many inhabitants angry about the unbearable stench that seems to come from the road drains, but no one has taken action to date to eliminate the problem that has been exposed in black and white ".

“The residents of via Castelli – he continues – have been living with the very unpleasant effects of a nauseating smell that taints the air making it unbreathable for almost two months. This terrible stench comes out of the metal manholes in front of the council houses, perhaps due to the lack of periodic cleaning of the drains since the stench gradually becomes stronger not only when the wind blows, but now every hour, near the metal grates, placed protection of rainwater disposal systems'.

« This unpleasant fact has been going on for some time now , especially in the buildings owned by the municipality between numbers 23, 25 and 27. And the unbearable stench not only enters the buildings, but enters the houses, even through the electricity line meters and the related sockets. A toxic, unbearable smell – he concludes – and a problem to be addressed».
