Drugs, thefts, robberies, and even a kidnapping. A criminal syndicate using an illegal club in the Mulinu Becciu neighborhood as its base of operations.
Two Cagliari residents, known to law enforcement, have been placed under house arrest. The order, issued by the Cagliari court's investigating judge at the request of the Anti-Mafia Directorate (DDA), was carried out by personnel from the Cagliari Police Flying Squad.
According to investigations launched in April 2024, the two had set up a thriving drug dealing business right in the club, which had become a point of reference in the area for pushers and users.
But the illegal activity was not limited to drug trafficking.
The investigation has uncovered other very serious criminal incidents: first and foremost, a kidnapping, dating back to September 13, 2024. A local man was allegedly forcibly removed from his home and taken to the club, where he was held captive for approximately eight hours, suffering a violent attack that caused injuries deemed to heal within 30 days. The goal? To force him to sell drugs under the suspects.
The other incidents: the aggravated theft, committed with a grinder, of a coin-changing machine containing €1,500 stolen from a betting shop . And a robbery: by threatening the betting shop employee with a crowbar , they stole another €2,389 from two VLT machines.
