The "new" Cagliari will be ready in 2024 , the restyling will be profound and will concern the city center, which is preparing to change its face. First of all, however, the capital will have to face a long period of construction sites , which forces traffic to be rethought.

Between 20 and 27 March , a series of changes will begin which - in fact - will revolutionize the viability, including new one-way streets, reversals of the direction of travel and a via Roma, side of the arcades, closed to traffic from unauthorized vehicles.

The changes, summarized in the video:

  • the obligation to turn right onto viale Bonaria from via Stazione Vecchia (already active);
  • traffic coming from viale Diaz, via XX Settembre and via Regina Margherita will be directed to via Pirastu, which will become one-way towards via Campidano. It will be one of the main arteries until the works are completed;
  • on via Roma, in front of the arcades, transit will be permitted only to authorized persons: consequently, it will be compulsory to turn left onto Largo Carlo Felice from via Roma, in front of the Town Hall;
  • the obligation to turn right onto via Roma from via Maddalena, where the direction of travel will be reversed, in the section between viale Trieste and via Roma;
  • the establishment of two-way traffic on via Roma, in the section between viale Trieste and via Sassari;
  • the reversal of the direction of travel on via Sassari, in the section between via Roma and via Crispi, in the direction of piazza del Carmine;
  • the reversal of the direction of travel on via Crispi, in the section between via Sassari and via Angioy, in the direction of via Angioy.
