There has been an arrest after the mugging suffered by a woman on Monday evening near Piazza Galilei in Cagliari. A 38-year-old Nigerian in handcuffs.

According to the victim's story, she had just left a supermarket when she was approached by the man who forcefully snatched a shopping bag from her hands, then fled by boarding a CTM bus on line 1. On the way she had lost on the street what was just stolen.

The Flying Squad officers who intervened on the scene intercepted the foreigner in Via Roma, as soon as he got off public transport. They stopped him and took him to the police station where he was arrested.

Yesterday morning the investigating judge validated the provision without applying any measures, and granted the authorization for the expulsion. The man was accompanied to the Macomer CPR to await repatriation.
