Cagliari: prohibited collection of sea urchins and expired fish in shops and restaurants, fines of 22 thousand euros

Fishermen who harvest sea urchins during the prohibition period, traders and restaurateurs who sell untraced or even expired fish .

Burst of sanctions from the Cagliari Coast Guard, which raised fines for a total amount of around 22 thousand euros and seized over 200 kilos of fish .

An operation called “ November rain ” also took place in the period from 24 to 30 November. The controls on fishing and on the sale of fish products by the port authorities will continue and will be intensified during the Christmas period.

Particular attention to fishing in prohibited areas or protected species and to the sale of products without traceability documents and without the mandatory information to buyers.
