He stole a cell phone and a pair of glasses from a car dealership. And when officers arrived to arrest him, he damaged the patrol car.
It all happened in Cagliari's industrial area. The alarm was raised by the business owners, who had reconstructed the theft through video surveillance footage. They then called 112.
Thanks to the description and smartphone tracking, the officers identified a twenty-four-year-old foreigner who was still in the area.
Once he was stopped, he put up a strong resistance, so much so that the officers had a hard time restraining him. Despite this, the man damaged the patrol car by kicking and headbutting it, smashing the rear window.
The man was held at the Police Headquarters under arrest on suspicion of committing aggravated theft.
