The Carabinieri of the Cagliari Radiomobile Section arrested a 29-year-old, of Algerian origin and of no fixed abode, already known to the police, for aggravated theft.
The young man was stopped in Piazza Matteotti, while he was trying to get away on an electric bicycle that had just been stolen from a 21-year-old Pakistani man, who was using it to carry out his delivery business for a food delivery platform.
The rider, who immediately noticed the theft, alerted the Carabinieri and, also thanks to the collaboration of the other riders present in the area, the military were able to quickly identify the perpetrator of the theft.
The 29-year-old was thus stopped and taken to the security cells, awaiting the summary trial.
The judge then validated the arrest.
The stolen bicycle was returned to the young rider.
