High, almost unconscious. Because of the alcohol, at least. But above all of drugs, such as cocaine and methamphetamine: there are around ten young and very young people who in the last two weekends have been rescued by 118 operators in the Stampace area to be taken to hospital.

Males, but also girls. Who don't always accept assistance. For some, friends intervened. Others, in a glimmer of clarity at the sight of the flashing lights, walked away, refusing to be taken to the emergency room. But the tests on those in the worst situation, who did not resist, revealed drug and alcohol abuse.

The pattern would always be the same: an anonymous call to 118 to report the need for intervention to rescue boys and girls who are found on the street and "have to be picked up with a spoon", says a nurse. Among those who work the night shift there is starting to be talk of a worrying phenomenon, linked to some evenings where the rules are not respected.
