Cagliari celebrated a man, a story, a piece of memory and living. Costantino Mereu, with his 104 years, is not only a witness of time, but a symbol of strength, dedication and love for life and family.
Born in Aritzo in 1921, he faced the war, the hard work as a miner and railway worker, and the transformations of an ever-changing world.
Today the city paid homage to him and surrounded by the affection of his wife Ignazia, 95 years old, his five children, friends and family, he blew out the numerous candles.
A special moment, enriched by the presence of the Municipality: the President of the Council, Marco Benucci, brought the greetings of the mayor Massimo Zedda, giving him a parchment and a commemorative medal.
"It is an honor to celebrate a fellow citizen who with his story embodies the values of resilience and dedication to family and work," Benucci emphasized.
