The check-up campaign promised by Abbanoa has begun along the water network that brings drinking water to Burcei, to identify and eliminate leaks along the route that have often left the town dry .
A targeted intervention also with the efficiency of the lifting systems along the aqueduct that carries water from the Corongiu water purification plant to the municipal tank: in the Municipality of Burcei, Abbanoa technicians are in short carrying out an intense program of interventions that aims to overcome the critical issues recorded in recent times. What has been repeatedly requested by the municipal administration during meetings also with the mayor Simone Monni and the top management of Abbanoa.
Burcei is currently supplied exclusively by the Corongiu aqueduct through an old pipeline, subject to continuous breakages that are difficult to repair due to the particularly rugged terrain it crosses . The connection is over 9 kilometers long, interspersed with two lifting systems to overcome a difference in height of almost 400 meters. The reconstruction of this pipeline is already scheduled: the process is underway to get to the start of the work as soon as possible. In the meantime, the continuous breakages, even if promptly repaired, are affecting the supply of the municipal tank which is having difficulty recovering optimal levels. For this reason, pressure drops persist in the upper part of the town.
To find an immediate solution to the problem, these days the technicians of the Abbanoa Distribution sector of District 1 of Cagliari, competent on Burcei, are carrying out interventions that allow to overcome the critical issues immediately. A search campaign is underway for hidden leaks (those that do not emerge on the surface) to reduce dispersion and optimize the quantity of available resources. The checks are carried out with special equipment, geophones, which allow to detect anomalies in the subsoil due precisely to leaks that do not emerge. The same search is also concerning the supply pipeline.
Another intervention that will be implemented in the next few days will concern the efficiency of the two lifting systems present along the 11 kilometers of supply pipeline: in Corongiu and Perdaxedu. Equipment with an “inverter” system will be installed that will allow the pressures to be regulated, optimizing the quantity of water to be sent to the tank of the town.
