After three years, the cherry festival that the Municipality organizes with the volunteers of the town returns to Burcei.

“ Cerexia fest ”, this is the name of the festival, will take place tomorrow 2 June, the day of the Republic Day, with free samples of cherries that the Municipality will buy from the producer. Shows and music for children, poetry competitions, the improvised poetry workshop, comic interventions are planned.

And tomorrow will also be the day of the reopening of the parish church of “Santa Maria di Montserrat”, built in 1896, built by Gaetano Cima and closed for some time for safety reasons after the fall of an iron window from the highest part of the temple. “Cerexia Fest” or “Cherry Festival” is certainly destined to bring many guests to Burcei .

The cherries will hold the counter with many other events that will begin at 9:30 with a walk among the stands set up in the Parco Marcia, in the town. At 10:30 am conference with sector experts and cherry producers to talk about the strategies for the future. At 12 noon and 5.45 pm free tasting of the cherries purchased by the producers from the municipal administration.

At 4 pm the mass with the reopening, as mentioned, of the parish church. At 17:30 entertainment for children . At 6:45 pm inauguration of the 5-a-side football field . At 7.15 pm comic show with Tzia Palledda and Priamina, played by Lorella Piccioni and Marcella Monni. At 7:30 pm poetry workshop . At 8 pm, poetry competition with Severino Monni, Fabiano Patteri, Luca Pinna, Matteo Frau. At 10 pm grand finale with "Cerexia dance".
