Burcei recalled Isidoro Frigau, his partisan hero, killed 79 years ago by the fascists in Tuscany, with the laying of the stumbling block in piazza Brigata Sassari. A few years ago, the Municipality named the town's Belvedere after him.
Frigau left Burcei as a boy. He was killed at twenty. In 1989 the president of the republic awarded him the silver medal.
Yesterday it was the national association of partisans (Anpi) of Burcei who organized the ceremony. Present mayor Simone Monni, the family of the soldier, the citizens, the president of the Anpi Maria Caterina Scuda, the scholar of the partisan movement Marco Sini, former mayor of Monserrato. It was a simple and moving ceremony.
The mayor-poet of Burcei, Simone Monni, also dedicated one of his poems in the Campidanese language to the partisan hero: «A Isidoru Frigau su partigianu bruceresu!
