Budoni, on the Salamaghe beach a Caretta caretta nest

A Caretta caretta nest on Salamaghe beach, in Budoni. This was reported by a citizen who last August 31 observed and helped a small turtle reach the sea.

The forest patrol of the Siniscola Naval Base intervened on site to identify and secure the site. The Forestry Corps immediately activated the monitoring and protection procedures provided by the Regional Network for the Conservation of Marine Fauna, coordinated by biologists Graziella Dedola and Piero Panzalis of the Tavolara Marine Protected Area.

In the next few days, we will ensure constant surveillance of the nest until all the eggs laid have hatched.
