The Safe Beaches 2023 project kicks off today in Budoni and San Teodoro. Thanks to the agreement stipulated between the two coastal municipalities of lower Gallura with the Provincial Command of the Nuoro fire brigade, the two surface water rescue facilities have been activated with based in Porto Ottiolu, in Budoni, and in the Marina di Puntaldia in San Teodoro.

The agreement stipulated between the mayors Antonio Addis and Rita Deretta with the Commander of the Nuoro firefighters, Antonio Giordano, provides for the garrison along the coasts that extend from Matta and Peru to Porto Ottiolu, and from Costa Caddu to Capo Petrosu .

Ten men in all, aboard 2 inflatable boats and 2 jet skis, will patrol the coasts every day from 9 to 19 until 31 August. The strengthening of the coastal garrison by the firefighters in the two Gallura centers joins for the third consecutive year the campaign for the safety of pleasure craft and navigation launched by the Coast Guard, called Mare Sicuro, and is part of the interoperability framework between the of Porto – Coast Guard and the National Fire Brigade.
