Over eight kilos of marijuana hidden in his home. A man was arrested in Bonnanaro last night for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute by Carabinieri officers from the Torralba and Mores stations, supported by colleagues from the Alghero Nipaaf detachment. He was arrested in Mores after being caught red-handed on Tuesday, December 9th, during a traffic control. However, during the initial stages of the routine checks, the man suddenly fled in his car and disappeared without a trace.

The Carabinieri of the Torralba and Mores stations therefore immediately began investigations and quickly managed to identify the fugitive.

The Carabinieri therefore organized a prolonged surveillance operation at the wanted man's rural residence and, after several hours, located the man as he was returning home, moving on foot through the thick vegetation.

Once apprehended, the officers conducted a thorough search of the residence, where they found approximately 8.1 kg of marijuana, as well as a precision scale and various materials used to package the doses. They also found several jars containing a resinous and alcoholic liquid, likely used to increase the active ingredient (THC) in marijuana through a rudimentary infusion process.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the military from the Nipaaf detachment in Alghero (SS), the necessary technical tests were carried out, confirming the presence, in part, of an active ingredient exceeding the legal limit in the seized substance. All the material was seized, while the man, following the completion of the standard procedures and by order of the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, which is directing and coordinating the investigation, was placed under house arrest pending a validation hearing.
