Bonnanaro, 130 meters of tunnel on Carlo Felice reopened to traffic

The 130 meters of the tunnel reopen to traffic, at kilometer 179 on state road 131, at the height of Bonnanaro. The work was completed ahead of schedule.

Satisfied is the regional councilor for Public Works, Antonio Piu: «In this way, a stretch of road on such an important artery for the entire Island is restored to regular traffic, not only respecting the announced times, but doing it even ahead of schedule confirms to me that we are taking a new course. Behind this there is a great work of the entire councilor structure and the excellent synergy with Anas».

The remediation works, started in 2023, involved the consolidation and restoration of the structure, the reconstruction of the water drainage system and the adaptation of the safety barriers. The tunnel, 130 meters long, has the function of supporting and protecting the slope above.

The works as a whole have a value of 5 million euros. «Since the first inspections, last July», concludes Piu, «at the main road construction sites I wanted to create a working method that for every commitment made is followed by a concrete response, this one today is just another example that is added to the interventions closed respecting the deadlines during these months».
