With lots of umbrellas and towels spread out ready for a dip in the sea and a tan, the bathers during the summer months occupied the Abbacurrente beach , ignoring the interdiction order issued by the mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas, due to the risk landslides present in that stretch of the coast.

On Saturday, the blitz by local police officers who had the beach cleared and the signs prohibiting access to the area restored , indications of "off limits" of the beach which, punctually, unknown persons moved, despite the provision with which last 4 August, the mayor had reiterated the ban on access and parking for people and vehicles, along the coastal strip, in the stretch of coast to the east of the city, between Balai Lontano and Abbacurrente.

In recent weeks, several reports have arrived on the presence of bathers in areas at risk, below and above the ridge. The local police have relocated the signs showing the contents of the ordinance and restored the damaged fences. The Farritza beach had been excluded from the bans, which remained outside the risks identified by the Municipality. The phenomenon of coastal erosion seriously threatens the coast of Porto Torres due to the structural weakness of the rock formations. Risks often ignored by bathers and by those who venture out with kayaks and boats.
