The works to revolutionize the Bitti sewage system have been awarded. The tender for the "Renovation of the sewer collectors and related connections in the urban network of Bitti" was awarded by Abbanoa.

Bitti was devastated in 2020 by a flood that cost the lives of three people .

The damage to the water and sewerage utilities was extensive: kilometers of pipes damaged and in some cases uprooted from the ground. Abbanoa had created a task force of technicians to restore full operation of its infrastructures in a short time.

Although the sewerage network had been made operational again, a structural intervention was needed to be carried out through the funds made available by the Civil Protection.

Having obtained the resources, more than two million euros, and the authorizations to carry out the works, Abbanoa launched the tender, which has now been awarded.

The new pipelines will be built along via Monte Zebio, via Arborea, via Bixio, via Brescia, Corso Vittorio Veneto and districts, via Tolmino, via Oslavia, via Brigata Reggio, via Brigata Sassari, via Trento, via Papa Giovanni XXIII, via Sa Pineta , via Mameli, via Sicilia, via Roma, via Marconi, via Cavallotti, piazza Asproni and via Deffenu.

Overall, it is about two and a half kilometers along a route, explains Abbanoa, «designed to eliminate interference with the hydraulic network of rainwater to avoid mixing, in the event of rain, between rainwater and sewage sewage. . Both, therefore, will have different channels to prevent heavy rainfall from causing damage to the sewer system."
