On his way home to Colchester, Essex, after celebrating New Year's Eve, he lost his life in a dramatic accident. Thus died Francesca Mura, 32 years old from Nuoro, who worked as a biologist in the zoo of the English town.

A tragedy that has upset not only Nuoro, where the young woman's family is well known due to the work of her father Luigi Mura, anesthesiologist and former head physician acting in the intensive care unit of San Francesco, but also in Oristano where the doctor practices in a nursing home. His mother Anna Murgia, on the other hand, died a few years ago.

From a first reconstruction, on Sunday evening Francesca was on board her car and left for home after saying goodbye to her Scottish boyfriend. Along the way a car would have cut her way and, perhaps after the first impact, the biologist lost control of the vehicle by invading the opposite lane on which a truck was located.
