Alarm in Siniscola , in the early afternoon, due to a huge fire that broke out in the Cordianeddu area. The flames, driven by the strong mistral wind, incinerated at least five hectares and reached within a hundred meters of the houses, at the entrance to the town. Some families were evacuated as a precaution.

The firefighters, the men of the Civil Protection arrived on the spot, with the help of a helicopter of the regional Forestry Corps and the agents of the local police.

"The mistral wind, which has already allowed the flames to burn several hectares of land near the town in a short time, is calming down and we are confident that the helicopter launches will extinguish the fire definitively", explains the mayor Gianluigi Farris, "not we wasted time, we immediately raised the alarm and evacuated some houses as a precaution. It is an area of reeds and everything is very dry. I am very worried about this, the hope is that it will rain to avoid facing other events of this type ».
