A big fire broke out today between Sorgono and Samugheo . The flames started in S'Agase and are now devastating vegetation and cork oaks. At risk an invaluable green heritage also used for the production of cork.

A light north-east wind fueled the fire. Two helicopters from the operating bases of Sorgono and Farcana were on site to put out the blaze and limit the damage caused by the fire.

3 Canadairs are also operational , to support the ground operations teams. A fourth aircraft is arriving, departing from Ciampino airport.
