They tried to make him believe that someone was trying to withdraw 36,000 euros from his current account. The so-called employee of the bank, where a sixty-five-year-old from Baunei holds the account, reported to the victim several attempted withdrawals by making the customer service telephone number appear. To this communication, he added that to block the operation it was necessary to proceed through the Postal Police.

After a few minutes, the victim was also contacted by a self-styled inspector of the Postal Police, whose address coincided with that of the Postal Police of Nuoro, who invited him to make the transfer, so as to trace the operation and trace the authors of the scam. The victim, now convinced of the need to make the transaction, became suspicious, however, and went to the branch, remaining in constant contact with the self-styled inspector .

After a confrontation with the bank employees, he realized that he had just been the victim of an attempted scam that he reported to the Carabinieri of the Baunei station. The documentary checks and the analysis of the telephone utilities allowed to trace it to an eighteen-year-old resident in the province of Caserta , whose position is now being examined by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Lanusei.
