He lost control of his service motorcycle, which struck the guard rail and overturned on the shoulder outside the barriers. A Carabinieri officer was involved in an accident this morning while escorting a group of motorcyclists registered for the Moto Giro d'Italia event. The incident occurred in Baunei, along the Orientale road. The officer was uninjured.

Initially, 118 was alerted to dispatch a vehicle, but within minutes, given the officer's reassuring condition, the request was suspended. The Lanusei traffic police crews, coordinated by Inspector Fausto Loddo, arrived on the scene to carry out the required investigations.
