Over a thousand kilos of hemp seized by the carabinieri of the Oristano provincial command during the blitz of recent days in Baratili San Pietro . An operation that gave a serious blow to the production and to a drug dealing ring and which led to the arrest of six young people . In the late morning of today Diego Mirai, 25 years old from Cabras, owner of the shed where the cannabis inflorescences were kept (assisted by the lawyer Francesca Pisano), and the five boys originally from Morocco and Nigeria appeared before the investigating judge Salvatore Carboni for the validation hearing.

Mirai had immediately argued that the plantation was legal (the active ingredient would therefore be less than 0.2) but the arrest was triggered because the blossoming phase had begun, i.e. the separation of the flowers from the seedlings (a practice forbidden to the grower) . The foreign citizens who have lived in Nuoro for some time Osagie, Jahyi, Ogbebor (all 38), Dianka (39) and Amyn (25) declared that that was their first day of work: they had arrived in Baratili on the recommendation of an acquaintance because in the company they needed manpower. Then they would find themselves in the middle of the carabinieri operation which culminated with the six arrests and the seizure of the plantation and the large quantity of drugs.

The military also took samples to be sent to Ris to verify the active ingredient. In the meantime, the investigating judge Salvatore Carboni has confirmed the extent of custody in prison, believing that there may be a danger of tampering with the evidence. The defense will now consider appealing to the Court of Review for a revocation or mitigation of the measure.
