Attempted murder of Deiana in Mamoiada, Albino Sella sentenced to nine years
The first instance sentence overturned. An endless feud, according to the indictment Sella wanted to avenge the murder of his brother
The Court of Appeal overturns the sentence for the attempted murder of Antonio Deiana , which took place on January 3, 2016 in Mamoiada.
The Court of Nuoro on February 23, 2021 had acquitted Albino Sella, today sentenced to nine years in prison by the second degree judges of Sassari.
The Court of Appeal accepted the thesis of the prosecutor Paolo De Falco, who had asked for a ten-year sentence, and of the plaintiff lawyer Gianluigi Mastio.
According to the indictment, Sella acted to avenge the death of his brother Danilo, killed in 2008 : for that murder Marcello Gungui was sentenced to 18 years as material perpetrator, Antonio Deiana himself to one year and 8 months for aiding and abetting.
The defender of Sella, lawyer Francesco Lai, announces an appeal to the Supreme Court : "It is a must in front of two opposing sentences, now we await the reasons for the sentence and then we will formulate the petitions".
Deiana in January 2016 escaped an ambush in the outskirts of Mamoiada: she managed to dodge the buckshot shots fired by a hitman who was stationed behind a dry stone wall. He was aboard his car, he was only smeared and managed to reach the town and ask the carabinieri for help.
An endless feud , given that in February 2020 Albino Sella also escaped an ambush by shooting, always in Mamoiada.
