At Olbia airport, he attempted to board a flight to Paris-Orly Airport in France, but he had false documents, which led to his arrest. He is an Algerian national, and was stopped by the Sassari Flying Squad with the assistance of personnel from the Porto Cervo police station and the Olbia border police.
The incident occurred on the evening of August 3, according to police, with the arrested man now being taken to Bancali prison for judicial review. Moments before boarding the plane that would allow him to leave Italy , further checks on his documents revealed them to be false.
The arrested man had a Portuguese identity card , which, after careful analysis by specialized police personnel, was found to be false. Hence the order.
