He was hiding more than a kilo of cocaine in his house as well as 400 grams of hashish : a 58-year-old from Assemini , a pensioner already known to the police for previous convictions related to drug trafficking, was arrested by the Carabinieri.

The man was stopped in the early hours of the morning for a routine check on board his car in the center of Assemini by the Carabinieri of the provincial command.

The man's story and nervous attitude prompted the military to conduct a personal search, which revealed 29 grams of cocaine, divided into doses ready for sale, as well as 1,800 euros in cash.

The search was then extended to the man's home, where the carabinieri found a much more significant quantity: over a kilo of cocaine, partly already packaged in single doses and partly vacuum-sealed, as well as 400 grams of hashish divided into blocks.

Also seized were 16,000 euros in cash, considered likely proceeds of the illicit activity, along with tools and materials normally used for packaging and cutting drugs.

At the end of the formal procedures, the man was taken to Uta by order of the judicial authorities.
