Assemini, fiber optic cables for the railway network cut, causing delays and train cancellations.
Severe disruption throughout the morning: 34 journeys were cancelled, but traffic has now returned to normal.

A serious incident of vandalism occurred last night on the Cagliari-Decimomannu railway line, in the Assemini area. Fiber optic cables, which ensure rail safety, were cut. This caused the centralized traffic control system to go offline.
The system was restored at 8:20 this morning, but the situation remained very complex for several hours. Numerous delays were recorded and 34 regional trains were cancelled .
Technicians are still working to check the network, but RFI has announced that traffic has now returned to normal .
