During the morning, the Carabinieri in Assemini were alerted by a strange cry for help from a 44-year-old local man. The man, very agitated, contacted the emergency number, claiming he was in grave danger.

Once they arrived on the scene, it became clear to the officers that the individual, already known to law enforcement, was not in any real danger, but rather was in a severe state of psychophysical disturbance . After restoring calm, the Carabinieri decided to search the home, investigating the real cause of the man's disturbance.

The suspicions proved to be well-founded as, placed in plain sight on the bedroom bedside table, the soldiers found approximately 25 grams of cocaine and a precision scale , material most likely intended for measuring and subsequently selling the substance.

The 44-year-old was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics . After completing the formal procedures, the man was held pending trial under the fast-track procedure.
