Nearly 70 kilos of illegal fireworks were seized last night by the Carabinieri of Assemini inside a warehouse in the city centre.

The intervention was triggered after a report of the presence of abandoned fireworks in a room belonging to a recently deceased person.

Bomb disposal experts from the Cagliari Provincial Command's Investigative Unit arrived on the scene, secured the area, and checked the warehouse's contents: homemade onions, firecrackers, and various types of firecrackers, all of which lacked the conformity and safety marking required by European regulations.

The material, deemed dangerous, was rendered inert and subsequently seized pending the decisions of the judicial authorities.
