Two plenary meetings between mayors, municipal delegations, trade associations and individual private companies are scheduled today at the Cervo Conference Center in Porto Cervo as part of the G20 Beaches summit, which began yesterday and which brings together the Italian municipalities that reach one million tourists a year.

"DMO and Governance Models - is the theme of the first meeting - Which organizational structures are more capable of pursuing the objectives of environmental, social and economic sustainability of the coasts, making the many players in the supply chain collaborate?". The second assembly instead by theme: "Gallery of ideas for the future of the Italian coasts; Plenary presentation of the results of the work tables and the priority actions to be undertaken by coastal destinations in the coming years".

In the morning, 8 workshops and focus groups were held on the main issues related to coastal destinations. «It is a true and profound confrontation - says Roberta Nesto, mayor of Cavallino Treporti and unanimously reconfirmed national coordinator of the network - both because the individual municipal administrations need to look up from their particular to look into the distance, and because all together in this Summit we understood the strength and determination created over the years by our network. We will continue like this with the aim of giving a future to the Italian coasts in the name of sustainability".

The municipal administrations of the major coastal towns of Sardinia are also present at the meeting days. «On the first working day of G20Spiagge, today in Porto Cervo we presented to the guest delegations the evolution of the Costa Smeralda tourist model which, 60 years after its birth, continues to represent a unicum among the most exclusive destinations in the Mediterranean. The values of environmental protection and architectural integration in the landscape that distinguished the project of Prince Karim Aga Khan in the 60s, still remain today among the priority themes that guide the choices of the municipal administration of Arzachena and that we share with the other localities belonging to the network», declares the mayor of Arzachena, Roberto Ragnedda.

Tomorrow, the last day of the summit, at the AMA-Auditorium Multidisciplinare of Arzachena, from 9:30 to 10:30 there will be a meeting reserved for the tour operators of Arzachena with the presentation and comparison of the first results of the new tourism development strategy of the Municipality of Smeralda . The annual G20Spiagge national conference will take place at 11 on the theme: "Let's define together the future of the Italian coasts, the first national tourism sector"; moderated by Monica Leofreddi, Rai TV presenter.
