Another “high impact” weekend in Baronia, where the police intervened with an extraordinary control service of the territory, following a series of attacks with car fires and bombs that hit the area of Siniscola. With the support of the military of the Squadrone Eliportato Cacciatori Sardegna, the Carabinieri of the Siniscola Company intensified surveillance in the municipalities of Budoni, Torpè, Posada and Orosei, places recently marked by an escalation of criminal acts.

The checks, conducted by about twenty soldiers, involved numerous people already known to the police, homes and vehicles. The operations focused on the main inflow and outflow roads from the town of Siniscola, an area recently plagued by a resurgence of crime.

During the operation, a total of 72 people and 46 vehicles were checked. The Carabinieri carried out 21 roadblocks and 5 searches, in addition to inspecting 3 bars, identifying the customers. In one case, a 12-gauge shotgun and over 100 cartridges belonging to a 31-year-old woman were confiscated as a precaution. Despite having regularly reported the weapons, they were not properly stored in her home.

Furthermore, violations were discovered in a bar in Torpè, where fines totaling 1,108 euros were imposed. The violation concerned the lack of a device for detecting blood alcohol levels, a necessary tool to promote awareness of the risks deriving from drunk driving. In addition, the owner of the business had not prepared the mandatory ministerial tables for road safety.

This extraordinary intervention demonstrates the commitment of the police to fight crime in an area that, in recent times, has seen a worrying increase in illegal activities. The controls will continue, with the aim of ensuring greater safety for citizens and fighting all forms of illegality in the territory.
