He arrived in Cagliari from Ulassai with his carer. In a moment of distraction from his companion, he walked away. And he forgot why and where he was. But the misadventure of a 101-year-old elderly man ended well thanks to the intervention of the police.

The military personnel were alerted by a phone call reporting the presence of an elderly man wandering in a confused state in Viale Bonaria.

The command is just a stone's throw away, the intervention of a patrol was immediate. The police found the man visibly disoriented and unable to provide useful details about his identity or residence.

First the reassurances, then the start of the "investigation" to understand who he was. Thanks to the gentleman's memories and the collaboration with the registry offices , it was discovered that the elderly man lives in Ulassai.

After contacting the Municipality, it was possible to trace the gentleman's carer, who had momentarily lost sight of his client. In the meantime, the carabinieri offered the elderly man all the necessary assistance, entertaining him with courtesy and respect, while waiting for his reunion. Which was followed by a souvenir photo, requested by the refreshed elderly man.
