Anti-fraud operation in Porto Torres against a commercial activity located in the city. The Sassari Adm officials in service at the Porto Torres SOT, together with the operators of the Annona and Consumer Protection Unit of the Local Police Command, during the activity of ascertaining violations regarding product safety, seized 160 articles of different types of goods, mainly games for children, without the CE marking and without identification labeling and the necessary warnings, in violation of the regulations on the safety of toys.

There are 97 pieces, including the anti-stress “Pop It” made of soft colored plastic used by children, items that did not comply with safety standards and did not have the CE marking. A pecuniary administrative sanction was imposed on the trader ranging from a minimum of 1,500 to a maximum of 10 thousand euros.

Another 63 products were found to have non-compliant CE marking, therefore a report was made to the Judicial Authority for fraud on the market and for use of products with non-compliant signs. The operation was carried out in application of the memorandum of understanding signed on 8 October 2020 by the Customs and Monopoly Agency - DT Tuscany, Sardinia and Umbria and by the Municipality of Porto Torres.
