One of the most sought-after young actors in film and TV drama, and one of the most sought-after conductors in theaters across Europe and beyond. On Friday, December 26th, during a ceremony open to the public (beginning at 12:00 p.m.), the Municipality of Ploaghe will award two prestigious awards to two of its illustrious citizens: actor and model Andrea Arru and conductor Leonardo Sini .

Mayor Carlo Sotgiu commented: "It is a great honor for me to be able to present this recognition to two young people from Ploaghe who, for years now, have distinguished themselves at the highest levels for their artistic abilities, exporting the name of Ploaghe throughout the world. It is extremely gratifying to know that, despite their extraordinary journeys, they remain strongly connected to their home community. Ploaghe is proud of Andrea and Leonardo."

Born in 2007, Andrea Arru started out as a child model for Armani and Valentino, then began his acting career, collecting numerous awards both personally and for the productions he participated in: “Di4ri” (two seasons for Netflix), “Storia di una famiglia perbene” (Mediaset) and on the big screen “Il ragazzo dai Pantaloni rosa”, “Glassboy” and “Diabolik 3” just to name the most famous.

Leonardo Sini's career took a turning point with his victory in the prestigious Maestro Solti Competition in Budapest in 2017. Maestro Sini has conducted at the world's most important opera houses, including the Paris Opera, the Verona Arena, the Semperoper Dresden, the Zurich Opera, the Liège Opera, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hamburg State Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and many others.
