He reached Fonni early in the morning, with the spontaneity that is his trademark.

Alessia Orro wanted to be there, simply to say thank you to that couple of artisans who had a kind thought for her: a handmade pendant. Then, to embrace a community and give a magical moment to the children of the mountain village, to volleyball lovers.

"This filigree pendant is gorgeous, I'll wear it right away," says the Olympic champion, while showing everyone that necklace with the 5 rings, her number 8 and the colours of the Italian flag.

"After the victory of the Velasco volleyball team against the United States, I started making this pendant," says Tore Pirisi, with his inseparable brother Raffaele at his side. "Then I posted the photo on Facebook, hoping that Alessia Orro could see it, so that we could give her our gift. I didn't have any hope, but yesterday evening, to my great surprise, I received a phone call from the champion's mother, announcing this morning's visit."

Pirisi concludes: «We are very happy, I coach the Fonni volleyball team. Now, soon, we will go to Milan to admire the fantastic Alessia on the playing field».
