Alleged rape, brawl in the courtroom. Ciro Grillo renounces the exam: «Too much media pressure»
According to the civil party consultant "the girl was passive". The defense rises up and asks for a new showing of the videoThe video of the alleged group sexual violence against the Italian-Norwegian student, filmed on the night between 16 and 17 July 2019 in the terraced house in Porto, is shown again in the courtroom - at the closed-door trial being held in Tempio - Deer owned by the Grillo family.
This was asked by the defense lawyers of the four defendants, Ciro Grillo, Francesco Corsiglia, Vittorio Lauria and Edoardo Capitta, following the report of the civil party consultant, Marina Loi.
The psychiatrist argued in court that the girl, 19 years old at the time, was "passive" and "not participating" in the relationship during the alleged rape and therefore that "the framework of free determination was compromised". But, after these statements, the defense team rose up and immediately asked the court to show again the video of that night, already viewed during one of the hearings in January, when the student was heard in a protected hearing.
On that occasion, the girl did not want to attend the screening and was allowed to leave the classroom for a few minutes.
Another complaint on the sidelines of the hearing was that of Gennaro Velle, Ciro Grillo's lawyer, according to whom "the right of defense was seriously limited as we had to carry out the cross-examination without the reports being filed first" by the civil party's consultants .
As for Ciro Grillo, from what we learn, the son of Beppe, comedian and founder of the M5S, has decided for the moment not to undergo the exam in the courtroom apparently due to the "very heavy media pressure" surrounding the ongoing trial. Same decision also for Lauria and Capitta, while Francesco Corsiglia will be in court regularly tomorrow, Friday.
