For the ten people on trial on the alleged corruption system linked to building permits for the expansion of some hotels on the Costa Smeralda, the statute of limitations for crimes, declared this morning, in court in Tempio Pausania, by the panel of judges chaired by Caterina Interlandi.
Among the accused are former minister and senator Franco Carraro, at the time - and still today - president of Smeralda Holding, the company controlled by the Qatar Investment Authority that owns assets and properties in Costa Smeralda; the former managers of Sardegna Resort, Mariano Pasqualone and Alexandra Dubrova; the managers of the Municipality of Arzachena Antonello Matiz and Libero Meloni; the former commander of the local police of Arzachena Giovanni Mannoni; the entrepreneur Angelo Filigheddu; Antonio Tramontin of the landscape commission of the Region; the engineer Tonino Fadda and the tax consultant Stefano Morri.
Rejected the request made by the lawyers of Pasqualone, Tramontin and Fadda to acquit their assistants on the merits, believing that their innocence was proven by the facts.
Standing, for four defendants - Dubrova, Fadda, Filigheddu and Matiz -, there remains only a part of the corruption allegations contained in the file: for them the trial will continue on April 27 when in the courtroom they will be called to testify the witnesses.
